Pope Francis’ monthly prayer intention for September is: “That our parishes, animated by a missionary spirit, may be places where faith is communicated and charity is seen.” The first person that came to mind was St. Teresa of Calcutta, and this is a great time to remember her – September 5th marks her 20th anniversary of her death and the first anniversary of her sainthood.
Apologize to the Past, Amend to the Future

Social media nowadays keep track of what we did or said since the first time we started using it. It also came with routine reminders of “what you did ___ years ago”, to let you repost or reshare that memory with others. Not all memories were pleasant, of course, but these reminders gave us something to really reflect upon as Catholics. When we have faulted others in our past, how many of us went back and apologize to them? How many of these relationships were reconciled or amended?

痛苦聖母 Our Lady of Sorrows

為什麼天主教會在傳統上將九月份奉獻給我們的痛苦聖母 (Our Lady of Sorrows)？答案很簡單：我們的痛苦聖母的紀念日是在九月份的中旬，9月15日。但是這個日子又是如何被選擇的呢？因為在這日子的前一天，9月14日，是慶祝十字聖架節。
像有許多不太多人認識的聖母瞻禮日一樣，紀念痛苦聖母的慶日跟她兒子生命中的事件息息相關。在 9月14日，我們慶祝十字架 - 讓基督戰勝死亡的工具; 在第二天，我們紀念瑪利亞站在十字架腳下時，目睹了她兒子被折磨及死亡的痛苦。我們也被提醒到西默盎曾對聖母瑪利亞預言（路加福音2：34-35），一把利劍會刺穿透她的心靈。
通過9月份的這些禱文，我們可以在聖母瑪利亞的痛苦中團結起來，希望將來有一天我們也能和她一起，在她兒子的凱旋中分享她的喜悅。
